Badly Explaining Tweets about Animal Crossing

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

The girl who doesn’t understand video games is back again with another edition of trying to explain video game tweets. This time, it’s the newest and most popular video game in the world!

The Sonic Meme!

So I haven’t actually seen Sonic the Hedgehog, but I know it was extremely popular and there was this crazy viral meme with Jim Carrey. I can’t imagine that Sonic is actually a resident of the Animal Crossing island, so somebody really wanted to make their own crossover event of the century.

Graphics Leaving Some Realism to be Desired

A SpongeBob reference! My favorite! I’ll always remember this iconic SpongeBob scene, and have been thriving seeing it come back around like this. I guess hands are still just a little too hard for animators to design?

Side Quests

When I was a kid, my parents brought me to the Ronald Reagan museum for the first time during Easter season. They turned the entire building into an easter egg scavenger hunt and I fell in love with the Reagans on the spot. I’m sure that people with these kinds of Easter egg hunting memories are also craving the nostalgia with Easter just around the corner. At least Animal Crossing can come in clutch when nobody else can this year!

Whatever is Going on With K.K. Slider

I’ve seen this K.K. Slider character in a few tweets now, and my confusion only grows. From what I can tell I guess this is like the mariachi band of New Horizons. The furries must be all over it.

The Age Old Debate

For as long as video games have been around, people have been peddling the theory that video games make people violent. Because there were definitely people playing video games during the Spartan era, the Roman empire, and the World Wars, right? As ridiculous as the theory is, it definitely does not take the simple nature of Animal Crossing into account. Whoever Blathers is, they are definitely living their best life.

Animal Crossing is an incredibly confusing game, but I think we can all agree that they’ve got the best fandom in gaming history. All their memes are ridiculously adorable!

Like a lot of business majors, Stephanie has a favorite Andrew Carnegie quote, and like a good communication minor, has very strong opinions on the Oxford comma.
