This semester is going to be weird. Some colleges have switched to an online model whereas others have given students the choice of being hybrid or online. While having classes meet virtually is the safest option for most students, this poses a problem for clubs and activities that typically take place on campuses across the nation. The main way that organizations grow and make their presence known on campus is by representing themselves on Organization Kickoff Day. Coastal Carolina University has over one hundred and eighty different student run organizations spanning from sports and clubs to honors societies and greek life. There is definitely something for everyone to get involved on campus.

Personally, I am involved with Dalton and Floyd Mentoring as well as holding the position of Head of Finance and writing for Her Campus. Dalton and Floyd Mentoring is a mentoring program set up through Horry County Schools and Coastal Carolina University. College students are connected to a student in either elementary or middle school who are in need of a role model. When it comes to Her Campus, as this semester is virtual, my main goal is to write articles and brainstorm exciting fundraisers for next semester.

With organizations only being allowed to meet virtually this semester, clubs such as Her Campus are at an advantage. We offer internships that are easily made virtual through writing articles that pertain to your major, This is a major advantage for upperclassmen whose internships were cancelled due to COVID-19. If you were supposed to have an internship that was cancelled or are in the market for a virtual internship, consider joining Her Campus!
