As most people appear to have done, I developed a new hobby during quarantine: skincare. Over the past several years I have struggled with my skin’s appearance, specifically my acne. However, in the midst of recent events and an abundance of free time in the past six months, I became really into skincare and experimenting with different products. I finally had time to observe what worked for me and what didn’t.

One of my favorite beauty and skincare brands is Glossier—in other words, it’s safe to say I’m pretty obsessed with it. During the lockdown, I purchased and tried several of their products (as in, there are very few products that I haven’t tried). Here’s my take on the five skincare products and five makeup products from Glossier that are worth your money and why.

Skincare: Solution

($24) Glossier’s Solution comes in at the number one product worth your money. Solution is an “exfoliating skin perfector”, as Glossier’s website states. It’s made with BHA, PHA, and AHA acids. Solution eats away the dead skin on your face and makes your skin appear smoother, more even, and brighter.

Priming Moisturizer Rich

($35) I use Priming Moisturizer Rich in my evening skincare routine before bed. It is thick, but not heavy. You can pile this stuff on for mega-hydration and never feel like your face is clogged up with product.

Balm Dotcom

($12) This is Glossier’s signature lip balm and the first product I ever purchased from the company. I now own almost every flavor! Honestly, this is simply a great lip balm and it comes in a variety of scents and tints—one for every occasion. It is absolutely hydrating and luscious!

Priming Moisturizer

($22) I use Priming Moisturizer in my morning routine right before applying sunscreen. It is extremely light and spreads fast so you don’t need much to hydrate your face. This is a plus as the tube also lasts a long time! Just like its sister, Priming Moisturizer Rich, it is very hydrating and you can layer as much as you want without feeling heavy or greasy.

Super Bounce

($28) Out of the three serums Glossier sells, Super Bounce is my favorite. It instantly makes your skin bouncy and shrinks your pores to ensure an even-toned, smooth canvas for makeup application (or no makeup!).

Makeup: Lash Slick

($16) For the longest time, I had problems with clumpy, thick mascara. With everyone I bought, my lashes would clump to each other and isolated a few huge eyelashes. Needless to say, this was not the look I desired. All I ever wanted was a nicely separated and long lashes…and along came Lash Slick! If you are all about a super dramatic, voluminous lash, this may not be for you. It is perfect for a naturally elongated look without tons of thick product.

Boy Brow

($16) I am lucky to have full brows naturally, so the only time I fill them in is if I am doing a full face of makeup. Otherwise, my filled-in brows stand out too starkly on my face. Boy Brow is what I use on a regular daily basis. It shapes my brows and keeps them in place with just a little bit of tint.

Cloud Paint

($18) Cloud paint adds a perfect, subtle wash of color to your cheeks. It comes in six different shades and is marketed as a gel-cream blush. It blends seamlessly into your skin and a little goes a long way. For best application, I recommend dabbing a few dots onto your cheeks and patting the product into your skin.

Haloscope

($22) For an all-natural looking glow, Haloscope is amazing. Just like everything Glossier sells, it is not overpowering or dramatic. It creates a beautiful dewy finish and stays put all day! Super easy application as well.

Skywash

($18) If there’s any kind of makeup I am not good at, it’s eyeshadow. Skywash, Glossier’s matte shadow, makes application easy and doesn’t add too much color (hence the name ‘wash’). Again, if you want a pigmented, dramatic look, this may not for you. As a novice at eyeshadow, this is a quick and easy product to use on a daily basis. My favorite shade is the golden beige tint called Palm (pictured in the front).
