A “side hustle” has been coined as a new trendy term which, essentially, is an additional job that a person takes in addition to their primary job. While this can sometimes primarily be for additional income, another reason why an individual might elect to have a “side hustle” is simply for the enjoyment of doing said activity.

Finding Your Passion

A side hustle can either be because of an intense passion that has always existed (for example- doing makeup for other people because of elongated interest in makeup) or because of trying new things and deciding you really like it (for example- getting your real-estate licence as a college student and realizing you are really good at it and enjoy it).

There are an infinite amount of passions and hobbies that can be done for money, therefore, producing additional income while doing something you love is the best of both worlds! Some of these passions and hobbies may include:

●  Writing

●  Reading

●  Dancing

●  Baking

●  Cooking

●  Hair styling

●  Makeup

●  Fashion

●  Sports

●  Investing in the stock market

●  Gardening

●  Skincare

●  Health and fitness

●  Animals

However, these are only a few of the thousands that exist!

Turning your Passion into a Career

Nowadays, not only can you enjoy your passion for enjoyment, but you can also make decent money from doing them. This can be done either by entrepreneurship (starting your own business) or by working/volunteering at a pre-existing company.

I believe it’s a really exciting time for millennials and Gen Z-ers because of these ample opportunities, and we should strive to take advantage of them! However, you shouldn’t do so at the expense of your own mental health and stress. Side hustles should be something that you like to do and enjoy spending the time doing, not something that makes your life more difficult or stressful.
