With these unprecedented times we are currently going through, the importance of little things and our appreciation towards them can go a long way. Be sure to dissect what the little things in life may be for you and you will start to notice grand change. Being aware of things that are not your job, other responsibilities, school, and any other stresses that occupy your brain every single day can allow for more leisurely thoughts and carefree moments, a more positive environment, and will allow you to be able to notice and be grateful for the little things in your life. Let’s dive into why that may be, because everyone could use a little pick-me-up now and then with a splash of optimism.

Opening your mind and giving it permission to ease up and focus on the little things present in your life is a key aspect in understanding the importance of such. Pay attention to what brings you joy, no matter how big or small. Do not listen to what other people or society tells you will, or should, bring you joy and soon, what actually brings you joy, perspective, appreciation, and purpose will unfold. After making yourself aware of your thoughts and your surroundings, you truly can start to understand the importance of appreciating the little things.

Appreciating the little things in life, from the core, means that you are choosing yourself. You are choosing to direct your attention and put forth time, effort, and thoughts towards what nurtures you, towards what sustains you, and towards what you want in your everyday life. You are shifting your focus and mindset to anything in your day that brings you even the slightest bit of pleasure, joy, relief, positivity, or happiness. This then allows for you to more consistently and unconsciously practice gratitude and count your blessings by regarding these little everyday things that can easily be taken for granted or looked past. It sincerely is the little things in life that matter.

With all of this in mind, I hope for you to one day, over time, realize that it is the little things that give life its magic. Take a step back and give thanks, give appreciation, find gratitude, find yourself, and notice the little things.
