Over the years, finding a razor that 1) got the job done and 2) was inexpensive has been nearly impossible. Far too often I wind up scraping myself with the cheap blades or spending too much money for something that barely grazes the surface and leaves me feeling as hairy as I was beforehand.

I had previously seen advertisements of Billie Razors and I was very interested in and moved by their branding–showcasing real women with body hair. They were the first razor company to actually show this–as most just show women shaving legs that are already perfectly smooth, (because god forbid we reveal to the world that women have body hair) and they grasped this realistic imagery with humor and honesty.

They also put a great deal of emphasis on one’s choice to shave–that anyone can shave what they want, where they want, and how often (if at all) they want to.

So, needless to say, I was intrigued by this razor, and for the fact that the starter kit was a whopping total of $9, eliminating the typical “pink tax” placed on feminine hygiene products. I decided to purchase it, knowing that if it wasn’t worth the hype, I would risk a mere $9.

When I first went to use the product, I was very excited, but I was worried that it would ultimately be an underwhelming experience. Luckily, I was far from wrong.

The razor, truthfully, is the best I have ever used in my life. The blades, which are infused with charcoal soap, gave me the smoothest shave I had ever experienced. I genuinely thought I had done something wrong–I could barely feel the razor whatsoever!

The shave itself was very effective–and it actually shaved all of my hair (minus the few inevitable spots around my knee or ankle), leaving my body feeling extremely smooth and brand new!

The lovely starter kit allows you to pick from a selection of colors and includes 5 blades as well as a magnetic holder for the shower (a feature that I adore–it never falls off nor does it get in the way!) Like other razor subscription services, Billie will regularly ship you new blades based on your shaving frequency, which you can alter at any time–all for a cost of another $9. A bargain, frankly.

All in all, I highly recommend this product and brand as a whole, and I’m excited to have finally found a perfect razor!
