How To Make the Best of Your Valentine’s Day (Even if You’re Single)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCSU chapter.

As Valentine’s Day is approaching, I know what most people are thinking; great I’m single on Valentine’s Day… again. Coming from a fellow single woman, I have a few ways that you can make Valentine’s Day a little less miserable, and dare I say, even fun.

Hang out with your best friends!

Just because you are single it doesn’t mean you have to be alone. I have been single for about a year now and I don’t feel like I need a man because of how great my friends are! If you have a good group of supportive friends, they can make your Valentine’s better than a guy could (shocking, I know). Don’t have a group of girl friends? Reach out to that one girl that you have been wanting to be friends with and see if she wants to hang out, most of the time girls are always looking for new friends!

Have a picnic!

I know everyone has seen those TikToks of people having aesthetically pleasing picnics. Make a charcuterie board, bake a cake, get some wine glasses, and you are ready to go. Have a little photoshoot to spice up your Instagram while you’re at it!

Celebrate yourself and embrace your singleness.

Remember that you don’t need a man to be happy! Use this time of being single to grow and work on yourself. You’ll be surprised at how much you learn about yourself and how happy you can be. This will not only teach you how to be alone, but it will help you become your best self for when you do meet that special someone.
