We all have those days where we don’t feel like ourselves. It can be very frustrating and upsetting feeling this way, but it’s important to remember that there are ways we can make ourselves feel better. For me, a way that helps me feel better is dressing up.

This may seem like a little thing to do, and when you’re in one of these moods and just want to lay in bed the last thing you think of doing is dressing up, but for me, it has always worked. Fashion is a way to express yourself, and the clothing a person wears often expresses their emotions. Yes, sweatpants are comfortable and easy, and I’m not saying you can’t be happy or confident wearing a sweat outfit, but when upset, these comfortable clothes will keep you laying in bed.

The first thing I would suggest wearing is a dress, especially one that looks good on your figure. If you’re not a dress person, I would suggest putting on your most figure-flattering outfit. Then look at yourself in the mirror. Seeing yourself in your most flattering outfit will automatically make you feel better. It’s hard to not feel confident in yourself when you feel like you look good.

Next, do your makeup and hair. Get ready like you’re going out to a nice dinner or event. Usually, you dress and look your best for those events and feel good about yourself when going to them. When you take your hair out of that messy bun and put on some makeup to highlight your best features, the confidence will continue to grow. Don’t forget to put on your heels, or comfortable but cute shoes if heels aren’t for you, to truly complete the look.

The last step would be to take pictures. Now that you’re feeling more confident in yourself, this will show through your pictures. This is something that will keep your confidence up and will help you next time you feel down. It’s okay to have an off day but don’t let it get the best of you.
