I’ll Just Take the Money

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UTSA chapter.

Stress comes to my mind when I think of coming up with graduation gift ideas, anyone else? I swear, I always say, “I want this” or “I want that,” but when someone asks what I want, I NEVER know. It’s a struggle, to be honest. The go-to is always money, but sometimes a gift is more exciting. For graduation, at least from parents and close family members, money is too bland because it is a big occasion! If you want some actual gift ideas besides money, then listen up!

Let’s say your grandparents want to get you an actual gift, but you know they’re not the best at picking what you like. Grandmas sometimes tend to give you some questionable clothing items. Your siblings want to get you a gift and not just a slap for “congrats!” Then come to your parents, who often want to give sentimental gifts since you are officially an adult graduated from college. It is all so sweet that everyone wants to give gifts but coming up with ideas brings stress. Don’t worry because I am giving a list of great items so people can stop hounding you, and you can get back to stressing about what you will wear on graduation day instead.

There are so many different ideas for gifts, and it all depends on what your family truly wants to gift you. A surprise gift is sometimes better because you didn’t have to come up with anything. All I know is that it is your special day, and you deserve the greatest/sweetest gift, even if it is just money.
