Spring semester is finished and as a rising senior, I’m feeling a little reminiscent of my junior year at A&M. With a semester filled with lasts coming for me next, here are some of my favorite memories of this past year!

1. Football Games

Most know that football is an integral part of A&M’s culture, whether it’s attending only Midnight Yell practice or hanging out at a fast food restaurant post-game to celebrate or eat in silence about how bad the game was. Now, I can’t say the ENTIRE season was great (there were so bad tan lines received towards the end of the season), but I will toot my own horn about being on the big screen at two different games. It may not mean anything to anyone else, but my friends and I had a blast screaming at a random camera person. All in all, even though the football team wasn’t the hottest this past season, I will be enjoying all my last games in the fall.

2. Discovery of the Improv Troupe

I’m a lover of the performing arts as a former viola player, so when I signed up for a Performance in World Cultures class, I thought I’d be in for a treat. Course content aside, I found out that A&M has an improv troupe and they perform every month or two. Now my friend and I didn’t know what to expect going into this because neither of us had any experience with improv before, but it was fun! There were audience suggestions and jokes about current events and trends that livened up the atmosphere. We were confused at the end of the first one but after our second show, we got the hang of it and may make it a little tradition of ours for next semester. For more information about the troupe itself, check out their Instagram: @fslip_tamu

3. Ring Day

You’ve heard it once and you’ll hear it again: Aggies love their gold (or silver depending on what finish you choose). And I recently became one of those Aggies! I earned the forever-loved Aggie ring this spring and I love the way it weighs on my hand. I will say the energy in Aggie Park on Ring Days makes you wired which adds so much more to the excitement. And I love getting new jewelry, especially when I had to work so hard for it. Now while I’ll only have one Ring Day for myself most likely, you will see me cheering on my friends when they get theirs AND shouting at them to chug the yummiest pitcher of warm beer.

And finally…

4. Joining Her Campus

Certainly not the least important highlight because if it weren’t for this organization, I wouldn’t even be writing this article in the first place! This org has introduced me to some of the sweetest girls I know and helped me make memories that I didn’t even know I would have here at A&M. I honestly cannot think of a better and safer environment in a student org on campus than with these lovely ladies.

Thank you so much for having me here this year and I look forward to writing more exciting stuff in the fall. Toodles!!
