It’s been a little more than a year since my last skincare routine update and A LOT has changed. Looking back at my first skincare routine article, I’m just shocked by how different my routine is now. Over the past year, my skin has changed, so with that, my routine had to change. In the previous article, I mentioned that I have combination skin, but now I would say that my skin is just dry. And when I say dry, I mean extremely rough, cracked skin that even my moisturizer could not fix. Philly’s cold weather is also not helping with this issue. I would leave my apartment with my face covered in Aquaphor just for it to become dry again an hour or two later. This was until I found a product that eliminated my dry skin leaving me with smooth, hydrated skin. Here is my skincare routine:

  1. CeraVe Renewing Salicylic Acid Face Wash

I only use this product in the morning for fear of over-exfoliating my face. The bottle says that this product can be used twice a day, but since my skin is sensitive I just don’t want to risk it. This face wash has done a great job of cleansing my face, especially after the gym since my breakouts have decreased. Even if I do break out, they tend to fade quickly.

  1. COSRX Snail Mucin Essence

This product is AMAZING! I had heard a lot about snail mucin from friends and social media, but I was skeptical. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to put snail mucin on my face, but I decided to try it out. At that point I was desperate to try anything to heal my dry skin. However, after trying this snail mucin for even just few days, I could already see a difference! After using this product for a little more than a month now, I can say that my dry skin is gone. My skin is so much softer and looks so hydrated! I use three pumps of snail mucin in the morning and night, and I apply it to my face and neck.

  1. Aveeno Protect + Hydrate Sunscreen

I’ve been using this product since my first skin care article because it just works for me. I have to admit that there was a point where I wouldn’t apply sunscreen because I would forget or just be too lazy to do so. However, I have started to use sunscreen again because it is a crucial step to a skin care routine. It is always important to protect your skin!

I know this routine is very very short, but that’s because I am still trying to figure out what products I should use and what will work for me. It’s difficult because every skin is different, so products that may work for some people might not work for others. These three products are ones that I have tried and have been working for me. So until I find maybe a serum or something else to add onto my routine, this will be my very simple skincare routine. 😊
