November has finally arrived and the season of eating is upon us. For those of you who are not already celebrating Christmas, you are aware that Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away. With that also comes food, and food requires cooking.

Almost everyone celebrates Thanksgiving in the United States, and almost everyone has their own traditions that come with that. Your family may all help cook dinner from a set list of items every year, or you switch it up every year, maybe all the cooking is left to one person and everyone else cleans up afterwards. This is a tradition that every family is aware of, so you probably don’t need help from a stranger on the internet when it comes to that.

What about Friendsgiving?

For those who don’t know, Friendsgiving is simply Thanksgiving dinner, but with a group of friends rather than family. It can be a lot of fun, and makes your friend group even closer than it was before.

But that also means everyone must provide food.

A potluck, where everyone brings a dish to the party, is required in almost every case of Friendsgiving in order to put the responsibility of the party on everyone.

Coming up with foods to bring to a party of people can be difficult. You may end up bringing something that no one touches, but if you’re in need, here are a list of foods that are sure to be a hit at your next Friendsgiving.

  1. Pigs in a blanket

A classic party staple, these tiny hotdogs wrapped in dough are incredibly easy to make with only two ingredients. They are small, easy to grab from a platter, and delicious!

  1. Drinks

Oftentimes people will think about the food aspect so hard that they forget about the drinks. This can be an easy trip to the grocery store, or you can make your own homemade drinks like lemonade and iced tea to bring.

  1. Ice

Ok, it’s not food, but ice is a must for drinks. Ice can also be used for keeping drinks, ice cream, or anything else cold throughout the party and is incredibly easy to get.

  1. Chips and Dip

A classic with tons of variations! Tortilla chips and salsa or potato chips and sour cream or onion dip, this leaves room for store bought and homemade food.

  1. Brownies

These are so simple and easy to make. Not to mention making a lot is simple. All you have to do is mix the ingredients, pop it in the oven and cut into squares afterwards. If you want to make it fancy, dust them with powdered sugar and add raspberries as a garnish.

  1. Charcuterie Board

Whether you wants to make a fancy TikTok board or a simple one with the meats and cheeses just thrown on, this is a nice dish that can be eaten before, during, and after the main course. Even better, it doesn’t have to be kept warm or cold to be a hit.

  1. Bread

This is possibly the broadest one on the list. This could mean garlic bread, banana bread, French bread, the choice is yours! You could show off your sourdough starter, or you could run to your local bakery and bring some butter for everyone to enjoy.

  1. Vegetables and Ranch

This can easily be found at any grocery store. It’s a nice healthy snack that’s not too filling. Oftentimes the platter consists of carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, green beans, and tomatoes.

  1. Chocolate Chip Cookies

Enough said. But I will elaborate anyway. You don’t even need to ask your friends what kind of cookies they want, this will be devoured the most quickly out of anything on this list. Not to mention they are easy to make. A great recipe for them is The Chewy by Alton Brown.

  1. Mac and cheese

This is probably the most difficult dish to make of the list, but high effort makes for high reward. Mac and cheese is a warm dish that is bound to have mouths drooling the moment you walk in with it. Just remember to keep it warm and bring a serving spoon!
