As long as I can remember, I have always been drawn to the theater, especially Broadway. I have been participating in theater for almost 15 years and I do not plan on stopping any time soon! I love being able to express myself and my talents using song and dance! For me, it is my safe space to be who I am and have a place where I truly belong. Being able to sing with my friends and people who I consider my family is the most wonderful feeling. I am in the theater company now at school and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The company is completely student run and is so relaxed and I am able to have fun with my friends every time I walk into rehearsal. Being able to take part in theater has helped me get through some of the lowest points of my life and I am so grateful for it. I always felt like I had a home and a safe space where all my worries could just disappear, just for a little while. Musical theater has such a special place in my heart, and I could never imagine my life without it.

I was lucky enough to be able to go into New York City and see Wicked for the first time with my family. I have been able to see many other Broadway shows but this was the first time I have ever seen Wicked! As I was sitting in the audience, and the overture started playing and the flying monkeys started coming out of the woodworks, I was instantly overwhelmed, and I my jaw was on the floor. I was so taken aback by everything, and I was so content with it all at that exact moment. Nothing else mattered and I was surrounded by this make-believe world of Oz, waiting to see what would happen next. I was thinking to myself the whole time how much theater truly means to me and how much joy it has brought me over the years. Musical theater is one of the most important parts of my life and I hope I never have to live without it.
