It’s no secret that books are one of the best things that ever happened to the human race! Books are special and who doesn’t love the smell of ‘em? But most importantly every book lover wants to read a book that’ll make them feel! And not just feel, but obsess over. You know the book that just makes you rant and rave so much so that you could write a whole essay? Yes, that! And as the fall season is literally here and the weather is a bit cool, the secret recipe to staying warm and cozy is having a warm beverage — my personal preference being tea or hot chocolate — and reading not just a book but THE BOOK! Great news is, I gotcha. Here are some books that will wreck you good!

  1. Most of All You by Mia Sheridan

Synopsis:

Crystal remains closed off to the world emotionally as she has been hurt more times than she cares to count. All that matters is to survive until she meets Gabriel, like an angel, who makes her want to live again. Crystal fights this with all she has because it stands against very principles. Gabriel has been hurt as a child and is all about moving past it and living. This only heightens when he meets Crystal. There’s just something about her that he can’t quite place.

Mini Rant:

Ummm did I hear someone say QUEEN? Because that’s what this woman is. Wow, she is a true wordsmith, and trust me, this book will make you feel. Take it from someone who saw the book summary, and was like, what in the world? To save you some time, get some ice-cream because this one is not a tea read! And you will leave this world feeling like you know all the characters!

  1. More than Words by Mia Sheridan

Synopsis:

Jessica Cresswell and Callen Hayes first met as kids. Both having been through a lot, find a home in each other’s company. After Callen and Jessica share their first kiss, he disappears without a trace. Years along the line Callen Hayes becomes a famous composer well renowned for being a “bad boy.” He moves to France for a while to clear his mind and find himself until he crosses paths with Jessie who he hasn’t seen in ages. They are so different now and have such different lives, it seems impossible to ever work something out…

Mini Rant:

*Cough* Cough* When I said this woman can write, I meant it. You see, there’s just something about her affinity with words and being able to make you feel emotions towards characters that are not even real that is mind boggling. This book makes cliches look like a masterpiece. Totally worth the read and an easy five star one at that! Hope you enjoy it, if you do pick this up.

  1. He Will Be My Ruin by T.A Tucker

Synopsis:

Maggie Sparkes arrives in New York after her best friend, Celine passes. She arrives to help move Celine’s belongings and clear her apartment. Celine was said to have committed suicide. According to the reports she overdosed on Xanax while drunk. Maggie is sure that there is foul play involved because the Celine she knows would never do that. After she finds Celine’s childhood lockbox it arouses so much concern and is hard evidence that her best friend was murdered. Maggie will stop at nothing to find the culprit.

Mini Rant:

Okay, this book undid me. I’ll be real honest, in the beginning it wasn’t giving much, but when I tell you patience is key, I’m dead serious! About two chapters in and I was so immersed in it! If you love a good mystery/thriller/ romance book this one’s for you! It’s so crazy how much I actually loved this book, almost comical. You know it’s top notch when a romance kinda girl recommends a murder mystery! Though, there is a bit of romance which makes it manageable.

  1. Such a Quiet Place by Megan Miranda

Synopsis:

The Truetts are found dead and all evidence points to Ruby as the murderer. It was she who walked their dog, had access to their house, and was caught on camera that night. When she is put on trial and sentenced to 14 months in prison, the case is finally closed and to the town’s relief she isn’t coming back. Until she does. Surely, if she didn’t kill the Truetts, it had to be someone else. But who?

Mini Rant:

Looks like we are on a roll. Presenting another murder mystery that will blow you mind! Oh my! This book did it for me and since I love sharing, here you go.

  1. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

Synopsis:

Alicia Berenson is a famous painter in London. Everything is seemingly perfect until one night Alicia shoots her husband in the face after he returns home late. After this incident, Alicia Berenson doesn’t speak.

Mini Rant:

This book had me hooked from the beginning. I was totally trying to crack the case like I was some detective and, boy, was I wrong! The Silent Patient is a must read, you’ll find yourself thinking about these characters long after you’ve finished it. Take it from someone who is not into psychological thrillers, this book was just *chef’s kiss*! If I could shove a book down your throat it’d be this. It should totally go on your 2022 TBR.

Well, that was one heck of a ride! Hope you actually get to pick up one or more of these books amidst the hustle and bustle the school year brings. Till next time, toodles!
