Okay, I couldn’t write this article without mentioning the classic Starbucks PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte). However, why not try something new? The apple crisp macchiato is one of my all-time favorite non-pumpkin Fall Starbucks drinks. I’m personally also a sucker for an iced brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso, which has the “Gilmore Girls” energy that I desperately need to carry with me this season. The best part is, this drink is available year-round!

I think that one of the best things to do in order to get yourself into the Fall/Halloween spirit is to watch something that fits! My personal Halloween recommendations are “Hocus Pocus,” “The Addams Family,” “American Horror Story” (especially Murder House, Coven, Asylum, and Apocalypse), “Corpse Bride,” and “Halloweentown.” For less Halloween-y recommendations, try watching “Gilmore Girls” or any of the Halloween episodes of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” or “The Office.”

I cannot say enough how much I love farmer’s markets. I’m especially rather fond of the Kaka’ako Farmer’s Market, which is held on Saturday mornings from 8AM- 12PM. This farmer’s market has fresh produce, amazing food stands, local craft stands, and booths that sell crystals. It’s a great way to spend a Saturday morning!

Okay, technically, spring is the big cleaning season (there is a reason why it’s called spring cleaning). However, Fall is also a big season for renewal. With any season change, it’s great to have a decor change to reflect it, even if it’s just moving a few things around. Don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone if you decide to skip autumn deep cleaning.

It’s a great time of year to go thrifting, especially if you’re taking my advice to redecorate (ahem ahem). UH Manoa has a campus thrift store run by the Women’s Campus Club! It’s located right next to the Ba-Le in Hemenway Hall, and you can get some pretty interesting pieces. If you’re into vintage things, like I am, you’ll probably find some cool statement pieces! I’ve even seen some very nice old tea sets for low prices. I can’t say I found anything great in terms of clothing the last time I went, but you never know what you might find! If you have spare time in between classes, I definitely recommend checking this place out. Happy Autumn!
