With Fall approaching, I am sharing my top things to do/see/try around Cville!

  1. Skyline Drive

If you are one of those people who love to go on drives and take the scenic route, I have the perfect road for you. Skyline Drive winds around the Blue Ridge Mountains going through Shenandoah National Park. Off the road, you will find places for picnics, hikes, or just areas to park and watch the sunset.

2. Carter’s Mountain

This is a UVA and Charlottesville classic. You can head over to Carter’s Mountain to pick your own apples, grab cider and donuts, or to just get a great view of Cville. Just minutes from UVA and downtown Charlottesville, Carter’s Mountain is the ideal fall excursion.

3. Farm Bell Kitchen

With the weather not too cold yet, enjoy a delicious breakfast on the patio of Farm Bell Kitchen. Located on Main Street, the adorable boutique inn was just voted “Best of Cville for Best Brunch.” The locally inspired, new-Southern cuisine menu guarantees everyone will find something they love.

4. A Visit to the Downtown Mall

When the weather starts to turn, the Downtown Mall has plenty of fun things to do. You can see a movie at the Violet Crown, try to complete an Escape Room at Escape Room Cville, or try one of the many delicious restaurants. My favorites are The Fitzroy, The Bebedero, and Ten Sushi.

5. Vineyards

There are countless breweries and wineries located around Charlottesville. Each tend to have fun fall events coming up! It’s a great location to meet up with friends and enjoy the landscape, food, and drinks. My favorites are Pippin Hill, King’s Family Vineyards, and Merrie Mill.

There is so much to do in Cville all the time. However, my favorite season here is fall! The weather is just right and the landscape is unbeatable. I encourage you to try some new places and things this fall and really savor this weather before the cold comes.
