Spring 2013 Shoe Trends

For a select few months when it is freezing, a pedicure is completely unnecessary. Why choose a beautiful teal color for your toes when they’ll just be hidden under socks and boots? #pedicureproblems

As the weather warms up, not only do you get to enjoy the sunshine (and for longer now!!) and new spring clothes — but purposeful pedicures and best of all: new spring shoes to show them off.

It’s been years since the gladiator trend really took off, but I’ve got to admit: I still love gladiator sandals. Towards the end of last summer my long-time favorites broke. I figured I’d find a replacement once it got warm again, and I think I have.

What do you think of these Merona Emily Braided Strap Gladiator Sandals? I really like them! They aren’t too intense (in case gladiators are seen as so 2009), and the pewter color goes with basically everything. Oh and did I mention they are only $15?!

However I’m also digging these Emeline Sandals in pewter. The braid is a little more fun, but a little less gladiator-y. Should I get both (these are $7.48!!!) or just one? Leave me a comment below!

So that takes care of my flats — of which I already have a good collection of — but what I really need is more wedges to dress up my super casual summer wardrobe.

These Mossimo Patricia Fabric Covered Wedge Sandals in Cognac are a little safe maybe, but I like them (and they will match a lot of my clothes!). They’re high (for me) at 4 inches, but I feel like for wedges, since they are easy to walk in, you need a lot of lift.

I am debating though which of these shoes are more practical – those, or these Mossimo Pam Wedges in black.

These are even safer, and definitely more evening that then the brown and black ones. Maybe I should just get two pairs — right??

Finally, the last pair that isn’t even up for debate – I just have to have them – are these Mossimo Falk Thong Sandals in Hyper Yellow/Turquoise.

These shoes are just too fun! I love the bright yellow bottom (neon better not be going anywhere – I’m too obsessed with this trend) and the thin brown thong. They look delicate — but the metal accents kind of toughen them up.

It’s Time for Springtime. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your look. Target makes it affordable and easy to play around with the trends.
