The 5 Most Gorgeous Dresses From the Miss America Pageant

The annual Miss America pageant, which took place this year on September 14, is known for the beautiful, glamorous gowns that contestants wear (and then some). We’re still obsessing over the women’s gorgeous dresses, and though all of this year’s contestants looked uh-mazing in their eveningwear, five of them truly stood out from the rest. These are our picks for the five best dresses of the competition!

1. Miss New York (and Winner!), Kira Kazantsev

This isn’t the dress she won the competition in, but we love this unique evening gown that Kazantsev wore during the preliminary round of the competition. White is truly this girl’s color, and the structured gown is absolutely gorgeous. Her fit physique doesn’t hurt her cause, either.

2. Miss Pennsylvania, Amanda Fallon Smith

How gorgeous is this ruby-hued gown? While singing “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” from Phantom of the Opera, Smith dazzled with both her killer pipes and this fantastic get up.

3. Miss South Dakota, Meridith Gould

Daaaaang, now that’s how you wear emerald! Gould looked completely killer in this long-sleeved, body-hugging number. The color was a risk that definitely paid off, and we’re obsessed with how such a simple silhouette can look so refined and sophisticated. We want whatever this girl is having!

4. Miss North Dakota, Jacky Arness

Wearing white on stage is dangerous. Gowns can look too bridal-y or highlight imperfections, but Arness looked amazing in this snow-white dress. The plunging neckline is sexy, but not too revealing, and the full skirt is super lady-like and totally pretty. Definitely doesn’t look like she’s about to walk down the aisle!

5. Miss Delaware, Brittany Lewis

The fit on this cobalt blue piece is perfect on Lewis, who rocked this gown during the competition. We love the unique cut of the dress, which is architecturally interesting and flattering on Lewis’ svelte frame. She’s got us seeing blue!
