Let’s talk numbers, shall we?
There are 12 issues of Vogue magazine each year, which (usually) means 12 cover models.
Out of these 12, there is only one famous September issue— you know, the one that was the subject of an entire documentary.
There have only ever been two African American women on the cover of Vogue‘s influential September issue—Naomi Campbell in 1989 and Halle Berry in 2010.
Until now, that is. The third African American woman to grace the cover of this iconic issue is, you guessed it, Beyoncé. The September 2015 issue marks her third Vogue cover, and this time around Queen Bey is killing it in a Marc Jacobs gown.
We could not be more excited about this news. We’ll definitely be picking up a copy when the issue hits newsstands on August 25.
