Weekend Trips to Get Away this Quarter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WWU chapter.

Now that midterms are finally over, take the chance to get away for the weekend, and detox from the stress of school and work.  Here’s a few ideas to get you started on your adventures.

Head down to Seattle to visit Pike Place and see the Space Needle

As a native Seattleite, I couldn’t help but put a visit to Seattle at the top of the list.  Full of great food, music, and art, Seattle is just a short drive down I-5, ideal for the weekend getaway.  Make sure to stop by Beecher’s for the mac and cheese, and walk along the waterfront, the perfect spot to take some instagram-worthy selfies.

Drive North to America’s Hat, otherwise known as Canada

If Seattle isn’t your cup of tea, head North to Vancouver for a cup of tea.  Check out the Vancouver Aquarium, and find cheap accommodations in one of the many hostels.  Plus, since the drinking age is nineteen in Canada, those of us who are not yet twenty-one can have a chance to experience the city’s nightlife.

Organize a Staycation

Grab your girls and spend the weekend at home pampering yourselves.  Get some face masks, rom-coms, and blankets for a cozy weekend spent bonding with your besties.  Check out the spa night we had using the Freeman’s face masks from our Survival Kits!

My name is Julia, and I'm currently a freshman at Western Washington University. I love hiking and the outdoors, and drinking way too much tea.
