I have always been a fan of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and upon purchasing Hulu, I started to re-watch the show. I recently watched the episode where Kylie started to experiment with lip fillers and it really focuses on how the media was prying to confirm her body modifications.
In season 10 episode 9, called Lip Service, Kylie Jenner is releasing her first solo project of her new hair extension line and a reporter jumped to ask about her changing lips. The reporter finishes his interview by saying, “A couple of weeks ago, people were like talking a lot about your lips. Tell me about them.”
All Kylie responded with was, “I just wanna…Let’s just stop. Let’s get over the subject.” I’m not sure if the editing of the show made it more dramatic than it really was, but Kylie just completely shut the reporter down and he didn’t pry any longer, surprisingly.
The entire episode involves her sisters talking about their reactions to the fillers, but Kylie barely even mentions it in her commentaries. Khloe commented, “Kylie decided to plump her lips and I don’t think that there’s anything wrong with that. I think if you’ve done something, though, it is right to cop up to it. If you avoid the question, you’re going to look like a liar.”
That blurb from Khloe is when I immediately thought of this whole pregnancy rumor. Kylie has avoided all contact and questions from reporters and fans, which has made her look pretty damn guilty to me.
Later in the show, she was being interviewed by another reporter and when he asked about her lips, she blamed her new look on using different colors of lipsticks to sort-of contour her lips. She is then shown saying, “I want to admit to the lips, but people are so quick to judging me on everything. So, I might have tip-toed around the truth, but I didn’t lie.” This seems to be exactly what she’s doing now to hide he pregnancy; she’s not lying, but Kylie’s not telling us the truth either.
This was just the beginning of Kylie denying the rumors of her fillers, something that, in my opinion was the best thing she could have ever done for her look and her confidence. Not only was it obvious that Kylie had work done, but it felt sort-of like a betrayal to her fans that Kylie was so secretive and dishonest.
The other instance where I thought this pregnancy dilemma mirrored a situation on KUWTK were the episodes pertaining to Bruce’s coming out and transition of becoming Caitlyn.
When a person decides to transition, their loved ones will usually respond by feeling like they’ve lost their loved one and they will actually mourn that loss. All of Caitlyn’s children take this news differently, but Kylie responds by shutting everyone out, but Caitlyn.
At lunch with Kourtney, Khloe and Kylie, Kendall notices that Kylie is bottling up her emotions. Khloe suggests going to therapy to ease their own transitions with Caitlyn, but Kylie ignores the topic and leaves.
She was interviewed and said, “My sisters keep trying to push me to talk about things, but I don’t really want to talk to anyone else right now. We all just cope with different things in different ways.”
The way that she coped with her dad’s transitioning was to isolate herself from everyone, including her family which seems to be exactly what she is doing to her fans and to the public now.
Kylie Jenner is the Snapchat queen and there is no reason that she would remove herself from Snapchat, KUWTK and the public eye unless something big was going on in her life. With the amount of secrecy and covering up her family has done like Kim drinking a fish smoothie to avoid answering if Kylie is pregnant or not and not including Kylie in the infamous Kardashian Kristmas Kard, she must have a huge secret and not denying the rumors is making everything seem to be true.
But hey, the rumors started in September, she received some sort-of crib-like cot thing recently, so she’s probably already had the baby and she’ll announce it like some sort-of Lion King presentation. You never know with that family.
