I was walking down the street drinking my coffee when all of a sudden my jaw drops, and there he was. My friends told me to keep going but I couldn’t help it, he was just so cute. That hair, he had the smoothest, darkest hair. And those eyes, don’t even get me started on those eyes. I had to go up to him. As I approached I was getting more and more nervous because he was with another girl. He was sitting so I bent down, he smelled so nice. I introduced myself and then…. he started licking my face. This was the cutest dog I had ever seen in my life! I knew It wasn’t going to be a successful cuffing season, so I decided to trade the cuffs for a collar. This is 6 reasons dogs are better than boys.
1. Dogs love to play games with you. Not mind games like boys usually do. They won’t tell you they like you then not text you for three days, they won’t tell you you’re the only girl they’re seeing but not date you. No dogs like fetch and fetch is my favorite game if it involves a ball and not my feelings.
2. Dogs love snuggling. They will never turn away if you are breathing too heavy, so they can’t sleep and they have an exam in the morning (but you said that you were sick before you came over so it’s really not your fault at all). No dogs literally don’t move when you cuddle which is something we all need.
3. Dogs are the only non judgmental workout buddy. If you wanna go for a run and you need a break, they will take a break. They will never yell at you in the middle of the gym telling me that you that you squat like a girl. News flash Timmy I am a girl!
4. Dogs will never judge how much food you eat. This is the most important one. All those salads I ordered on first dates did not die in vain, because I came home right after and ordered Jimmy Johns, Chinese and pizza and sate down to a Greys Anatomy marathon with my favorite pooch. You ordered a whole pizza to yourself? Little spot sees it as a greater probability that he will get a slice.
5. Dogs are loyal. There will never be a time where your dog does not have your back. Dogs are the most loyal animals on the planet, a lot more loyal than your high school boyfriend who you caught with your best friend a week before prom. ( yeah lol that was rough). They are also the best listeners and they can’t talk so they can’t interrupt you.
6. Finally it’s because they love you unconditionally. You can’t screw up a relationship with a dog.
There is no possible thing you can say or do to make them not want to love you anymore. This is why dogs are the biggest blessings we have in our lives. Who needs a boyfriend to come home to when you can come home to your best friend.
