It’s senior year! Like many seniors, I’m not ready to join the workforce, live a 9-5 lifestyle or pay my own bills. I’m also incredibly anxious about where the world will take me after I graduate—I don’t quite feel prepared to leave the comfy blanket that college has kindly wrapped around me. Instead of dreading and stressing about my future, I have decided to shift my primary focus to living the best year ever. That said, here is a list of goals I have compiled for myself, and I hope it will also ensure you a very lit senior year.
1. Be more productive
Senior year is filled with things to do and I want to do them all!
2. Wake up earlier
Who would have known that getting up before noon could give you so much time for activities?
3. Go to Karaoke Kid and perform a choreographed routine to one of Beyonce’s hit singles
Because duh.
4. Run Crazy Legs and go to Mifflin’s Street Block Party immediately after it
This has been on my list since sophomore year. Every year I end up skipping the running part— I just go straight to Mifflin. But seriously, how hilarious would it be if I ran an 8k and then got wasted at the biggest block party of the year? (P.S. It’s especially funny because the farthest I’ve run is from my house to Chasers on Margarita Wednesday)
5. Learn to sail
When am I ever going to get another chance at sailing on the prettiest lake in Wisconsin for an affordable price?
6. Follow through on at least 75 percent of the things that I said I’m going to do
I have a lot of good ideas. Senior year is the year to do everything that I wished I could.
7. Don’t let stress get in the way of living life
I get it! School, work, and the future can be scary; but I also don’t want to miss out on senior year because I’m too busy thinking about what I will be doing after it’s all over.
So seniors, if you’re feeling unprepared for the world ahead, take a deep breath, cry in a pillow, and call your mom for some parental advice. Then when you are done, get your booty out of your room and go enjoy the best year yet!
