7 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

Restaurants on Valentine’s can be somewhat horrendous. Even if you make reservations, you’re bound to end up waiting for your food, and if you don’t make reservations, chances are you’ll be waiting even longer!

Instead, here are some cute and unique Valentine’s Day date ideas for you to do with your significant other or friends!

1. Go on a hike

Hiking is always a good timem and it can make the perfect outdoorsy date! A lot of parks and nature preserves have charcoal grills and picnic tables, so you could even bring some food and grill out for a nice cookout! Some good hiking places close to Winthrop include Andrew Jackson State Park and McDowell Nature Preserve.

2. Paint pottery

Painting pottery is fun and relaxing and allows you to have something to remember the experience! Pick out your own piece and paint colors and start painting your masterpiece. Molly May’s Clay Days is located very close to campus and has a wide selection of different pottery to paint.

3. Cook a new recipe together

Pick out a recipe that you both find appealing and go to the store together to buy the ingredients. Then play some music, have some wine if you’re of age, and start cooking! It will be a fun activity for you to enjoy together, and you’ll love the meal even more knowing you worked hard to make it.

4. Go ice skating or roller skating

Kate’s Skating Rink in Rock Hill or the Ice House in Pineville or both great places for a date! The Ice House in Pineville has a pretty extensive snack bar, including some alcoholic beverages. Make a night of it and get some cute memories in!

5. Go to Revolutions or Dave and Busters

Grab some other couples or friends and head to Revolutions or Dave and Busters. Revolutions has pretty much everything you could want: bowling, laser tag, arcade games, food, and a full bar! Dave and Busters is pretty much the same, minus the bowling and laser tag. Both are awesome ways to have a fun night with your significant other or friends!

6. Go to Studio Movie Grill or Cinnebare

Both located in Charlotte, Studio Movie Grill and Cinnebare allow you to have your dining experience while watching a movie on the big screen. Both have a large selection of movies and food as well as alcoholic beverages. Why go to dinner and a movie when you could go to dinner in a movie?

7. Go to Sky High or Sky Zone

Have a blast and get a work out jumping at these indoor trampoline parks. These parks aren’t just for kids and can actually be a fun way to get some exercise!

Thanks for reading Collegiettes! We hope you try one of these date ideas out and have an awesome Valentine’s Day however you’re celebrating it!
