How Drinking More Water Changed my Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

For years I have been advised by doctors and reading articles offering the key to life: drink more water. Tell me something I don’t know (insert eye-roll). I’m not naive to the fact that drinking water more consistently would probably solve 99% of my problems. For some reason, I just haven’t taken it seriously. Once I came to college, I took a nutrition course which woke me up to the seriousness of proper hydration. I finally decided it was about time I try it out. I decided to drink five refills of my water bottle each day for two weeks, and here’s what happened:

1.   My energy level went through the roof!

2.   Who knew water would clear and brighten up my skin? Because it did.

3.   I had to take a trip to the bathroom probably every 20 minutes.

4.   I held up longer at the gym because I was hydrated and energized.

5.   My mood improved 1000%.

6.   I was significantly more focused and productive.

7.   I didn’t have headaches as often.

A big thing I learned is to drink before I even get thirsty, which I think is the hardest part. Bring a water bottle around with you throughout the day and see how much your daily life improvesI couldn’t believe it!

She likes to write stories that are real, raw, and have just a touch of humor. She writes because she believes she has a lot to say, and wants to talk about the things others are scared to talk about. She uses her writing to share her experiences and uplift others. She hopes to one day work for a non profit in campaigns for social change.
I love exploring the outdoors, writing, whales, and have a major sweet tooth for cheesecake! Volleyball and hockey are my favorite sports to play and watch. When it comes to writing, I love it. I truly enjoy being able to write articles and stories about topics people would enjoy reading.
