The leaves are changing, school is in session and Starbucks has broken out the Pumpkin Spice Lattes once again.  You know what that means?  Fall is in the air, everyone!

Whether you’re an autumn lover or the thought of fall just brings to mind the stress of nearby midterms, this hearty dose of Fall Favourites, ranging from food essentials to fashion and lifestyle must-haves, will have you so pumped for fall you’ll never want it to end!

Fall Food Faves

Two words.  Pumpkin.  Everything.

PSLs

Nope, this is not a secret code word; instead it’s a shortened version of the coveted fall staple, a Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL for short, duh).  It’s hard to miss these babies during the fall season since practically every coffee chain sells their own unique version of it.  With the perfect blend of pumpkin spices added to your morning latte, it guarantees to be a crowd pleaser, especially seeing as it is reintroduced every returning fall just to remind us all how much we love and missed it.  So grab a PSL, hot or iced, and enjoy the beginning of new season!

Scones

You don’t need to be from England to enjoy this cult favourite pastry.  With the introduction of fall comes some delicious scone flavours.  From pumpkin to cranberry to maple oat, your fall experience is not complete without trying one of these warm, buttery delicacies.  Be sure to thank me later.

Fall Fashion Faves

With fall in full swing, be sure to spice up your transition wardrobe with a few must-have pieces!

Trench Coats

A coat is the simplest way to transition your wardrobe from summer to fall, and a classic trench is easily one of the most stylish options to rock for fall. By layering a trench coat over your jeans and tee, or slipping it over a dress and knee-high boots, it’s sure to instantly bring your look from drab to fab, all while keeping you warm at the same time. Go a little out of your comfort zone and try a trench in a bold red colour to commemorate the colour of the season and make your outfit super fashion forward!

Scarves

Another simple transition piece is a scarf.  Scarves are the perfect fall accessories since they can instantly transform the overall look of your outfit.  Since they come in so many styles, patterns and shapes (i.e. circle, square, or rectangle scarves), your personal style is easily reflected in your choice of scarf!  Plus, you can totally impress walker-bys and friends with the functionality of your scarf by looking up tutorials online that demonstrate super cute ways to tie scarves around your neck or waist to show off how versatile they can be.

Fall Lifestyle Faves

Incorporate elements of the new fall season into your lifestyle and home décor with a few easy steps!

De-Stress

Fall can be a stressful time of year, especially for students who are getting back into the swing of things.  Take some time during the season to de-stress and have some downtime to yourself.  Try journaling or reading a good book.  Fall doesn’t have to mean go, go, go.  You should take some time to relax and enjoy the colours of the leaves and the crisp air coming.

Candles

Candles are the perfect way to bring the air of autumn into your personal space.  Places like Bath and Body Works offer dozens of candles with fall-filled scents to liven up your space, so find your favourite scent and cozy up to the smell of a burning candle while all your troubles seemingly melt away. Be sure to try the Bath and Body Works “Leaves” candle- if this candle doesn’t scream fall I don’t know what does!

Hopefully this list of Fall Favourites has you just as excited for fall as I am!  All the best collegiettes, and here’s to a great season!
