When a Collegiette meets the world of YouTube
As a full time Collegiette, it’s important to leave time for the pleasures in life. Over the years, I have learned to allocate my time to include something I refer to as a very reasonable obsession: YouTube. To me, YouTube is not only a space that inspires creativity, but it’s a great way to spend time if you’re taking a quick study break.
Keep reading to find out what channels are the best to check out if you’re in the mood to discover the world of YouTube.
First off, we have the daily vlogging channels. These channels are for the committed YouTube watchers who plan on setting aside time each day to watch someone vlog from somewhere in the world about their daily life. Just think of it as a reality TV show that you can count on every single day. Score!
Warning: watching these daily vlogs may cause you to form emotional attachments with the vloggers on-screen.
Next, are the DIY channels. I must admit, I’ve wandered onto a few channels that post some super creative DIY content that suddenly makes me believe that I can become Martha Stewart overnight. With the help of these YouTubers, you can do anything. Seriously. From changing a car tire, to creating some yummy homemade meals, these channels have it all. Also, definitely check them out if you need some DIY room inspo, because I know I have!
Ever wondered what the hottest new trends are this season? Look no further than the beauty and fashion channels on YouTube that are made specifically for those who are all about finding the latest and greatest beauty and fashion trends. As an avid-fashionista, I have stumbled upon quite a few YouTubers who satisfy my fashion and beauty needs. I love filling my spare time watching their shopping “hauls”, it really helps get my mind off of the fact that it’s exam season.
Finally, we have the comedy channels. These videos are for those of us who have shed quite a few tears over midterm season and are in need of a laugh. Parodies and comedy skits are the glue that hold these channels together, so find yourself a few roll-on-the-floor-laughing vids to brighten up your day!
Okay, Collegiettes, now that you have a few channels to check out, try not to get too obsessed (like me). JK – who said too much of something was ever a bad thing?
