What made you choose Wilfrid Laurier University?

I chose Laurier because I like the small vibe of the school and I thought that it would be a good option for business. It wasn’t as mainstream when I applied; I understood that they had a good business program and it seemed like a good way to differentiate myself from the mainstream Queens and Western type business people.

What is your favourite local bar and on which nights?

Pub [on King] Tuesday’s. It can go from a restaurant to a banger in a matter of hours.

Are there any restaurants that you are raving about right now?

Zoup! Because they are actually good soups and not the kind that you buy from the grocery store.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans are to continue to run my company, meaning that I will stay within the Waterloo region after graduation. I will be continuing on the path that I’m taking as of right now.

For those who don’t know, what is studentXel Klarity™ and how are you involved?

I am the Founder and CEO, and I am accompanied by a group of managing partners – also WLU students. Rahul Malhorta, Baltej Sandhu and Harry Chauhan deal with things such as marketing and graphic design. StudentXel as a whole is a lifestyle brand for students. We are trying to teach and promote optimal habits and to ensure that they are successful and happy during their undergraduate career. Klarity™ is the first and one of many supplements, or “nootropics”, created by studentXel. Health Canada Certified, it is specifically designed to provide a calming focus, while delivering your daily dose of B Vitamins – fulfilling a need and consequently providing a solution to a problem among university students – the illicit use of prescription study drugs.

How did you decide that this was something that was needed as a resource for students?

In first year, I realized the vicious cycle of people knowing that they needed to do well in school, but not actually doing the work in order to achieve it. Consequently, this creates cognitive dissonance, leading to self-debt and poor self-efficacy. The quick fix to this dilemma? Drugs – Adderall, Concerta, Ritalin, and Vyvanse to be precise – all prescribed as stimulants. I decided to come up with a better option for them.

What was it like starting your own business? How do you balance it with school?

In the beginning, I had a lot of apprehension and a lot of uncertainty, but I knew that I had a product/idea that would not only sell but also had the potential to become viral. In regard to school, I am self-aware enough of my learning style that I can take in as much information in the least amount of time. Life is ultimately situational, so it is important to hope for the best and plan for the worst –and not be down if you didn’t accomplish what you wanted to in a day.

What do you do with your free time, outside of school and work?

When I’m not busy with school and my business you can find me at the gym, reading several different business novels, or just hanging out with friends. I am also currently raising a puppy named Monty.

Where can people get this product and how much is it?

You can order studentXel online at https://www.studentxel.com, where you can purchase a bottle of 30 capsules for $39.99. For Laurier students, we offer a promotional discount of 15% off and free shipping. You can find studentXel in the KW region at International News Waterloo Campus, Neighbours Market, Sage 2 Convenience Store, and Cure Plus Pharmacy. There are also locations on the Queens, Western and Guelph campuses, along with two health food stores in Toronto. In store, you can purchase a bottle of 10 capsules for approximately $11.99.

What do people need to know about taking Klarity?

Klarity™ is Health Canada Certified and is 100% vegan-friendly. Through these capsules, you will be getting your daily dose of B vitamins as well as other brain-boosting nutrients. Most importantly, Klarity™ gives the individual the energy of caffeine without the jitters or crash. This is because of the relaxing component of L-Theanine, normally found in green tea.

Is there a way for fellow Golden Hawks to help or get involved?

Klarity™ is continually looking for new brand ambassadors and for people to get involved. If you are open to the discussion of study drugs and their abusive nature (Adderall, etc.) and are interested in the benefits of Klarity™, you are invited to partake in the movement by contacting us at Info@studentxel.com
