5 DIY Gifts He Actually Wants

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Western chapter.

1. Give him a bucket of all his favourite drinks and snacks. It might not seem romantic, but it shows you pay attention to the things he likes. Also, in case you’ve been living under a rock, they say food is the way to a man’s heart. He wont hide this gift in his closet like that scrapbook you made him last year (sorry but it’s true)… he’ll actually use and like this.

2. Does your man love beer? You can get creative with the messages… and even though he’ll tear them off, it’s the thought that counts. Ps. the beer will help dull down the cheese factor…. ouuu, you should buy some good cheese too.

3. Okay… some more cheese, but if your guy loves kicks, he’ll love you for this. Has he mentioned a pair of shoes he likes? Maybe a certain brand? Pick them out and surprise him with them. This is another gift he probably needs (he can throw out those one’s that are totally falling apart), and he’ll look super cute wearing them on your next date.

4. This is my favourite… Start collecting bottle caps and design something for his wall. This will look perfect in his room and is 100% manly enough for him to show off to his friends. You’ll be the best/coolest gf ever.

5. One more practical gift that serves you both. Your guy likely has a hard time coming up with dates that he can afford (student life, holla) and giving him these little ideas can prompt a whole lot of fun. Come up with all the ideas but let him choose which one and when he uses them… that way he’s still put a bit of thought into it.

IDEAS: Trip to a book store to look around. Go mini-putting. Go to the Dollarstore and pick something out for one another. Have a coffee date… all SUPER AFFORDABLE.
