How To Tell If He’s Just Not That Into You

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Washington chapter.

Reading your date’s interest in you can make you keep asking yourself everything from, “Does he likes me?” to, “Maybe he’s not that into me” or, “should I text him first?” The list could go on and on. Long story short, it’s not that easy!  While dating someone in this chilly weather can be tempting, it can also cause you to start wondering what all those mixed signals that he’s been sending mean. Rather than overanalyzing what all those text messages and his actions mean like a poet, there are some common ways you can tell he’s not that into you:

1. He doesn’t text you first

2. He’s always “busy”

3. He texts you after midnight or weekends only

4. He takes a decade to text you back

If it is the first time you went out with him, these are also signs that he’s not that into you:

1. He doesn’t keep the conversation going, resulting in awkward silence

2. He doesn’t open up, or he talks too much

3. He doesn’t ask questions about you

4. He doesn’t want to add you on social media

5. He doesn’t seem nervous when he tries to make a move

6. He doesn’t give an exact time or date to meet up in the future

What if the date went well, and he said he had a great time and promised to text you, but he won’t commit to seeing you again? If you never heard from him after that first date in a day or two, then, he probably got eaten by a shark or he’s not that into you. If he likes you and wants you, he will do the opposite of all the things that mentioned above. He’ll be happy not only to cuddle, but also commit to a relationship with you. It is the bitter truth, but it will save you more time than justifying what all could’ve or would’ve happened. There are plenty fish in the sea; stay fierce, ladies!
