5 Style Tips for New Year’s Eve

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

Whether you’re going to a glitz and glam party, hitting the town, or spending a night with your friends, girls always find the need to dress to impress on New Year’s Eve. Here are five easy ways to look good while feeling comfortable. Happy New Year!

1) Sparkles!

New Year’s Eve is a time for celebration and what is more celebratory than sparkles? Whether you borrow one, have your own, or buy a new one, a sparkly dress is easy and you will look fabulous with just one piece. Dress this look up or down with boots or black heels.

2) Metallics.

Apart from sparkles, another way to stand out is by wearing metallics. This can be done through a cool eye shadow (my favorite is idol eyes by M.A.C.), heels, flats, or jewelry.

3) Black tights.

For those who don’t live in California or Florida, it’s winter!! Stay warm if you are going out by wearing black tights. They look good with most dresses and can keep your legs a little warmer.

4) Curl or straighten your hair.

A quick way to look festive without having to dress up is by straightening or curling your hair.

5) Jewelry.

Not in the mood to dress up? Throw on some jeans, a cute blouse or sweater, and dress it up with some jewelry. Stick with one statement piece or multiple smaller pieces.
