4 Crafting Essentials for Sorority Big/Little Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

Spring rush might have officially come to a close, but while the new members are settling into their new sororities, sophomores are in a scramble to craft for their soon-to-be littles. We want to show these NMs just how much we love them and crafting is one way to surely make them feel welcome! There are many different approaches to big-little week but here are some great crafting ideas to make this year’s big-little week the most amazing week ever.

1. Letters: This is a sorority essential. Every girl needs her own pair of painted letters to represent her new sorority. Grab some wooden letters and paint at any craft store nearby and get to work!

2. Blanket: This is a cute and unique gift for your future little and it is surprisingly simple! Just choose a blanket that has your sorority colors and sew on felt cutouts of your letters.

3. Picture Frame: Nothing is more thoughtful than giving your little a place to put a photo of her new family. Here is one approach to this classic craft…

4. Mug: If you have ten minutes to spare, design yourself a sorority mug. All you need is a plain white mug and a few of your sharpies for this cheap and colorful choice.

These are just a few ways to get into the spirit of big/little week.  Crafting is a great study break and stress reliever and it will definitely make for some happy littles.
