How to Wear the Latest Fashion Trend: Crochet Clothing

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Vanderbilt chapter.

The semester is finally coming to a close and summer is right around the corner. Not only do I love the summer because of the beautiful warm weather, but I am also thoroughly inspired by the fashion. My current favorite fashion trend for this summer has to be crochet items. Adding one crochet piece will make your simple shorts and tank top look fashion forward and beach ready. Here are some examples of various crochet items that are not only affordable, but they are also super cute!

As you can probably tell, I love Urban Outfitters for their crochet items. They have a large selection of colors, styles, and cuts, that it make it easy to find one that will compliment your style. Not only does Urban Outfitters have great crochet items, but so does Free People. Free People is a little bit pricier than Urban Outfitters, but their items are so unique and are vintage inspired that the higher price tag is definitely worth it.

I would also highly recommend checking out Etsy. Since their items are either handmade or vintage, you are sure to find something that no one else will own.

Crochet is definitely not everyone’s taste, but for those of you who enjoy wearing it, go for it. Not only will you get many compliments on your outfit, but you will also demonstrate that you know how to incorporate the summer trend into your wardrobe.
