This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

Stressss, ugh!

Stress changes your attitude on life, your overall mood, and it affects how you manage your life. Do you find yourself anxious, emotional, tense, or angry, or all of the above?

If you’ve been stressing, no, you’re not alone and yes, a little stress is inevitable. However, if you’re feeling under pressure more often than not, that definitely isn’t healthy. Whether you’re dealing with short term or chronic stress, it can be really damaging. So stop, have a minute to yourself, and find the fix.

Social Pressures

I get it, you really want to keep up with what’s going on in social media world. But think about it. What’s the most you could be missing out on? Imagine all the time you waste obsessing over pictures of your favorite celebrities on Instagram, or trying to keep up with the fight going on between some friends through Twitter. I know it can distracting, but try not to get so dazed scrolling all day, because that only takes up time that you need in the real world. ;)

Family & Friends

Of course we love our family and friends, they’re our support and affection! But they can sometimes be the reasons we stress the most! When it comes to our loved ones, making sure everyone is happy is a top priority. But if your friends are making their every issue your problem too, or if you find yourself in clashes at home, give yourself an outlet.

Take some time for yourself and get into a hobby you really enjoy or take up a sport. Exercising is also a great way to keep stress down!

College

Spending every hour of the day studying for test after test is definitely tiring, along with everything else on your crazy schedule! Grades are very important but it’s also good to find your balance so you can actually enjoy yourself! Stay on top of your upcoming tests, deadlines, and advising appointments to avoid uneccesary stressing.

Always make personal time for yourself, and realize that perfectionism doesn’t exist. Pleeease stop being so hard on yourself!
