As most people know, this coming weekend will mark UVM’s 2015 Homecoming
and Family Weekend (Oct 2-Oct 4). This weekend is for all members of the UVM
community, and will be packed with events that almost everyone can attend. For a
lot of students, this will be the first time they are reconnecting with their families
since move-in day. This is also a great opportunity for alums to come back and
reconnect with old friends, faculty, and get a chance to talk to current students.
Though the forecast predicts some rain this weekend, there is no doubt that
October is one of the best months in Burlington. Autumn is descending upon us,
and there is no better time to come see the beautiful scenery UVM has to offer.
Take your parents on a stroll through the green as the leaves start to change colors.
Walk down to church street and browse some of the radical stores (and tell your
parents to bring their wallet!). Even in the event of a rainy weekend, there are still
endless things to do.
In addition to all of the things outside and off campus people can do this weekend,
UVM is providing a ton of activities on campus, including presentations and
workshops. Some of the weekend highlights for families include:
• Catamount Family Brunch
• Parent and Family Social
• UVM Fest on Saturday with live music, local vendors, food, games and
entertainment
• Segway tours of campus and UVM Historic walking tours
• Academic unit open houses
• Greek open houses and programs to highlight campus
Over 75 different activities, programs and events!
Make sure to take advantage of all UVM has to offer this weekend. It’ll be a good
one!
