5 Life Lessons We Can Learn From Fat Amy

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

We all know who she is. She is the one we quote all the time. Fat Amy from the popular movie Pitch Perfect is who we are talking about, one of the lead Bella’s. Throughout the movie Fat Amy teaches us some pretty meaningful life lessons and we are here to point them out and help you learn how to be a better you!

1. Stay one step ahead.

Take the not so subtle hint from Fat Amy and keep an upper hand through humor. Playing up your strengths is always important, but think what others might view as a weakness and learn how to turn it around into something endearing or less of a deterrent.

2. Be confident.

Whether it’s a job interview or talking to a cute boy, if you don’t feel comfortable in your own skin, it shows. Remember, it’s okay to fake it until you make it.

3. It’s what’s on the inside that counts.

Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you and would do anything to help you succeed. A few really close besties with fat hearts are better than a whole list of Facebook friends you rarely see.

4. Give out second chances.

Not everyone who leaves your life deserves the chance to come back in, but when those you love mess up, it’s okay to let them make it up to you.

5. Be yourself!

College is the place to decide who you want to be. Don’t bother wasting these years being anyone other than your fabulous self.
