Have you ever known someone from Omaha, Nebraska? Well, now you have. Meet this week’s Campus Celebrity: Kevin Falck.
Kevin is a current 21-year-old senior at UT, majoring in Business Management. You probably recognize Kevin from being at all Student Production events, because he is this years President. His favorite event every year is Party in the Park (and no, he did not give me any hints on who will be preforming this year, *sigh*). Each semester he puts on over 30 events and it is his job to make sure everything runs as planned. He has to make sure the performers show up, the vendors are all set, and ensure students will actually want to attend the events. This may seem like a lot for one person to handle, but he claims his executive board is what helps him stay sane. Kevin said, “I’ve got a great executive board that helps me make sure everything runs smoothly.”
Another one of his accomplishments at UT was having the opportunity to choreograph “See you Again” by Carrie Underwood in last years Dance Happening show. Kevin was nervous at first to take on the challenge, but he loved the feeling afterwards.
“I dedicated the song to my close friend from home who passed away. It was a lot of work, but knowing the performance was in her memory made it all worth it. I was able to really step outside of the box and do something for myself,” said Kevin.
As if this isn’t enough to keep him busy, Kevin also is a UT Diplomat, President Leadership Fellow, and a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society. He was on the Men’s swim team his freshman year, which was the main reason he decided to attend UT. His favorite part about being so involved on campus is that he gets to meet so many new people and interact with people he has never seen before. Kevin said, “My favorite part is creating new memories.”
Outside of school, Kevin works at Harry Potter World in Universal Studio’s where he gets to be a wizard. He loves seeing everyone’s faces as they walk into Happy Potter World because they feel like they are truly falling into the storybooks.
What is one thing you don’t know about Kevin? He is OBSESSED with Carrie Underwood, but I can’t blame him. Kevin said, “I’ve been to like ten concerts of hers and just recently in August I met her. That was the highlight of my life.”
As Kevin approaches graduation this May, he is nervous but excited for the journey ahead of him. His time at UT has allowed him to peruse all of his interests and much more!
