Trend Alert: Cat Eye Makeup

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

What’s not to love about the cat eye trend? It’s dramatic, eye-catching, and easy to do! Not sure how to make it look right? Look no further!

First, choose an eyeliner. Pencil eyeliner is easier to apply, but liquid eyeliner creates the most dramatic effect. Liquid is harder to manage though, and it may take a little bit of practice to get it right. Black eyeliner is more classic but for a more fun style, try metallic!

Draw eyeliner on your top lid as close to your lash line as possible, working your way outward. Once you get to the outer corner of your eye, tip your eyeliner up and draw a little past the corner of your eye.

If you want your eyes to really pop, draw eyeliner under your eye as well.

Finally, curl your lashes and apply mascara.

With cat eyes, eyeshadow may not be necessary, depending on how bold you want to look. If you would like to wear eyeshadow as well, apply it before eyeliner so you do not smudge the eyeliner.
Once you get the hang of cat eye makeup, there are all sorts of variations and colors to try. A simple search online will show you the possibilities are endless!
