Morning Affirmations For Better Mondays

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFCA chapter.

Mondays are often seen as the most dreaded day of the week. Add an early morning to the mix and it can be tough to even pull yourself out of the comfort of your bed. Well collegiettes, have no fear, these three morning affirmations are sure to get your Mondays off to a better start!

1. Think Positive Things!

Start off your morning right and avoid negative thoughts. We all know Mondays are tough with the weekend ending and school and work just starting. Think positively and remind yourself of everything you are grateful for. Spend a few minutes sitting, closing your eyes and meditate quietly before you jump out of bed. Take the time to relax and prepare yourself mentally for the start of the week.

2. Write in a Journal.

Journaling your thoughts and plans for the week is not only a great way to hold yourself accountable for your goals, but it’s also an amazing way to express any worries you may have. We all get overwhelmed by the commitments and responsibilities we have; from attending club meetings to making special time for ourselves. Journaling and planning your week will start your Monday off right because you’ll know what’s in store for you for the week and you’re able to express any concerns or excitements!

3. Stretch!

Stretching is great for your flexibility and it’s an amazing way to wake up in the morning! Think about it, you’ve been sleeping for about five to eight hours and your body needs some movement! Take 5 to 10 minutes from your morning and stretch out your arms, legs and back.  Exercise helps you wake up and gets your blood pumping, so you’ll be more alert and ready to go!

Let’s make Mondays better and give these three affirmations a go! Grab a friend or a roommate and give them a try. You’ll soon see your Mondays becoming less dreadful and much brigther!
