It is officially sweater weather! The days of November have gotten a little chillier making it perfect to plan an outfit around your favorite sweater. Sweaters come in many styles such as cardigan, open-front or sweatshirt. The key to putting together the perfect sweater weather outfit is finding out what you like. As for bottoms, sweaters can easily be worn with jeans or leggings and boots or flats. You can also wear your sweater with a dress or skirt. Here are two fashionable ways to style different sweaters.
Cardigans are one of the easiest sweaters to style because you can wear them with a variety of outfits. They are both fashionable and functional. If your outfit needs an added touch, top it off with a simple cardigan. In addition, cardigans come in many patterns beyond just solid colors. A Houndstooth or cheetah print cardigan will look so cute over a black A-line dress. As shown below, you can pair a simple solid-colored cardigan with a floral skirt and tee shirt. This outfit is perfect for the first few cool days of Florida fall weather.
Sweatshirts are another easy sweater to style because you can pull them right over anything. Dresses, skirts, jeans or leggings—sweatshirts can make any outfit complete. Oversized sweatshirts are on trend this year and extremely comfortable. You can pair an oversized patterned sweatshirt with leggings and ankle booties for an effortless outfit. As shown below, you can wear an oversized solid sweater with patterned leggings and boots. This outfit is perfect for those few actually cold days.
This fall semester we have lucked out with only a few really cold days. But all that changes next year. Spring semester means January and February, two fairly cold months. I personally felt it ironic last spring wearing winter coats to class, but in any case we will soon have to get prepared. So over winter break, be sure to stock up on some sweaters!
