Read more about her here:
HC: How did you get involved at USF?
I started getting involved by joining a sorority. Being involved in Greek life gave me a lot of great connections, and I branched out to other organizations from there. I actually learned about Her Campus from a friend who was involved in it and in a different sorority, and I’ve been loving both ever since
HC: Very cool, did you come into it aspiring to write for on the national level, or a leadership position?
No, I honestly had no intentions of being a national writer. I was just happy to find a club that I could write for. I’ve been doing journalism since middle school, but I like magazine style, so Her Campus was the perfect fit. Later on, I earned the position of Editor-in-Chief, as well as National Writer. Now I am super involved and I love it!
HC: What’s your favorite part of being Editor-in-Chief?
I’d say my favorite part of being Editor-in-Chief is seeing how much our chapter has grown. We started off with only a few members and not a lot of content, but we now have over forty members and publish daily. It has been so rewarding and an amazing experience
HC: What would you say is the most challenging part?
I’d say the most challenging thing is communication. Sometimes, things don’t translate correctly over emails, which can make things difficult. But we always get it figured out
HC: What are your goals as far as involvement goes this semester and beyond?
I’d love to see Her Campus USF become a Pink Level Chapter- the highest ranking. In my sorority, I’d like to set a good example for my littles and be the best sister I can be, and a good role model for them. In my personal life, I’m applying for magazine summer internships in New York City! I’m pumped but really nervous.
