How To: Escape Paid Parking!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USC (AU) chapter.

Yes, we know you’ve all seen this sign around campus:

Meaning: “Sorry guys, but now you have to pay for parking!” Well, guess what? I have a few alternatives to avoid paying. (Legally, of course!)

1. Claymore Road – Located at the back of the Sports Stadium, this parking area holds 450 free parking spots for students!

2. Woolworths – Park outside Woolies at Chancellor Park (just down the road!) Or in any of the parking spots at the Chancellor Park shopping complex. You can park as long as you want and the best part is… it’s free!

3. Your mates place – Know anyone who lives nearby? Park at their place! (I’m sure they won’t mind!)

4. Your House – If you live pretty close by, don’t bother driving! Walk!

5. The Bus – Live near a bus stop? I’m sure many of you do. Take advantage of the USC Go Cards scheme and catch a bus to and from uni!

6. Carpool! Got friends? I KNOW you do! Instead of all of you driving individually, drive to one house/apartment and head in together!

Are you one of those people who live about an hour out? Head over to Northlakes or Caboolture to catch the FREE shuttle bus that takes you at 8am in the morning and back at 5pm at night. With so many options to choose from, it should be a piece of cake heading to uni each day!

Kisses, J
