For a long time now, Her Campus at UPR has been one of my favorite online magazines to read and today I have the honor to do a guest article as a blogger. This article will be all about the The MET Gala. It will be entertaining so I invite you to keep reading. Hope you enjoy reading it as well as I did writing it!
What better than The MET Gala Event to start off the month of May? Yes, the long awaited fashion event was celebrated on May 1st. This gala is one of the most watched by fashion and art enthusiasts. Why? Because of the big, bold, and extravagant attire celebrities wear that night. As any ordinary event, the invited guests have to dress up following a theme and I think that is what makes it so interesting and entertaining. If you are a little lost about what this event is and why it’s celebrated, I’m here to help you.
The MET Gala is a fashion event held in New York City as a fundraiser to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Also, it is an unforgettable event where celebrities invited show off unique, creative, and bold attire following that year’s theme. This year’s theme was Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons:Art of the In-Between in honor of the costume exhibition at the museum.
As a fashion enthusiast myself, I could not miss it for the world. I could not be there physically but I sat down on my sofa with my little notebook beside me and watched it all thanks to E!’s livestream event, writing down my favorite and least favorite dresses. Some celebrities went for an extravagant, bold look, and others went for a bright and simple look.
I have a lot of favorites ones but I’m going to narrow it to 10. Here are the best and worst dressed celebrities at The MET Gala 2017, in my opinion.
