Meet Yoni Gill, a senior at UNL, a lover of life and a taco activist. I was lucky to meet Yoni in the first week of one of my classes. After chatting with him for a few minutes, I could already tell that Yoni was one who likes to capture the best in everyone becoming like an instant friend to me. Through many adventures and much involvement on campus, Yoni has made his mark on UNL. His pictures are worth a thousands words and he’s only getting started.

Comment on Your Personal Style: I like clothes that fit and make me look like I’m not homeless

What are your dreams for after you graduate? To take photographs, travel the world and have a dog named Humphry.

How did you get started taking photos and how would you describe your style of photography? I started taking photographs of people after I failed at engineering. It found me, and I’m super thankful it did. My style is warm and full of grain and tries to stay honest.

What have been some of your favorite experiences so far with photography? I traveled to a few places this year, Hawaii and New Mexico were highlights. I wanted to experience them and getting to capture them with a camera was a huge bonus.

Do you try to challenge yourself when it comes to photography? If so, how? I challenge myself daily. I always strive to produce the best work and experiences I can, a lot of times that’s pretty difficult.

Describe Yoni Gill Photography in three words: Fun seeking, honest.

Whose work has influenced you most or what inspires you most? There’s sooooo many people that have inspired me, I couldn’t list all of them let alone pick a top one. I really love Dylan Howell and Sara Bryne’s work right now, also BrinsonBanks.

Tip for beginner photographers? Take a butt load of photos, stay positive.
