Spring Succulents

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNL chapter.

The weather is finally warming up and different flowers and plants are reawakening after a long, cold winter. Do these plants inspire you to try your hand at gardening? Start with succulents! They are both beautiful and nearly indestructable, for those of you with a not so green thumb.

Here are four tips to grow healthy and happy succulents this spring.

1. Water Less.

  • Soak your plant about once a week .

2. Well Draining Soil.

  • The soil needs to dry out between waterings so that the roots have a chance to dry.

3. Lots of Sunlight.

  • Succulents prefer morning light with some shade in the afternoon so that they don’t get sunburned.

4. Propogate.

  • It is easy to create more succulents by simply removing some of the leaves and putting them out on damp soil to grow.
