Meet this week’s Campus Celebrity: Ryan Walsh! Ryan is a Junior Health Management and Policy Major from Northborough Massachussets. He is known by many on this campus, mainly as the nickname “The Duke of Durham”
1.Why do you think you are called the “Duke of Durham”?
The name “Duke of Durham” was given to me my freshman year by a junior who called herself the “Duchess of Durham”. I stuck with it and lived up to the name. I was first very self-proclaimed when it came around to the “Duke of Durham” title. People started to really call me “The Duke” last year because it seemed no matter where I went I always knew a bunch of people who were at the same location that I was. My friends hate when we are out and someone starts to scream “The Duke of Durham” or the “The Duke” but hey you have to give the people what they want.
2. What is your favorite thing about UNH?
My favorite thing about UNH is the people. I would say I have a lot of friends on this campus and they really make my experience at UNH the best that it can be. I also really like the campus and the food.

3. Where is your favorite place at unh? Where can you be found most often on campus?
During the day I can be found most often sitting at one of the tables downtown sipping on some coffee and talking with friends about life and our plans for the weekend. During weekend nights I can be found running around Strafford Ave or the line at DHOP at 1 AM.
4. What have you been involved with on campus?
I am a member of Alpha Phi Omega (Community Service Fraternity), a peer lead team learning leading for general chemistry; I was an Orientation Leader (not an RA) this past summer, a member of SOHL (Student Organization for Health Leadership) and I am also a safe zones facilitator.
