To my fellow Wildcats in distress,

Breathe. We can get through finals. We’ve done it before, and we can do it again. While all may seem hopeless, the world is not over. Thankfully, UNH provides us with some amazing extra help centers free of charge!

Sunday- 2pm to 5pm

Helps with:

Elementary Math II, Applications and Analysis of Functions, Finite Mathematics, Calculus for Social Sciences, Calculus for Life Sciences, Calculus I, Calculus II.

Worth it?:

YES!! One thousand times yes. The math center is an amazing resource here at UNH. The tutors can help with homework, studying for quizzes and exams, and help explain things to you that may be confusing. If you are unsure on anything in your math class, you need to go to the Math Center.

The Connors Writing Center

Monday through Thursday 10am to 6pm

Friday 10am to 1pm

Any stage of the writing process. Through one-on-one conferences, you develop a comfort level with writing papers, essays, etc. Whether you have no idea what you are doing or a completely finished paper, the staff at the writing center can and will help you get the grade you want.

Worth it?

Absolutely yes! I have been to the writing center multiple times and they have been monumentally helpful with the writing process. You can bring in any kind of writing for help. They also sent a note to my professor letting him know that I visited the writing center. If you have a paper to write, make an appointment online right now to visit the writing center.

Resume Review

Located:

Hood House, Room 11

Hours:

Monday through Thursday 12pm to 2pm – Walk in hours, no appointment necessary

Helps with:

Developing resumes, and formatting, re-wording, or changing of current resumes. There are also templates and references online under the Hood House website.

Worth it?:

Yes! Just bring a copy of your resume for the reviews. Employers take about twenty seconds to review a resume, so you really need to make the most of their time. They also send you home with a booklet of sample resumes and cover letters. This is the most helpful resource when applying to jobs or attending career fairs.

Center for Academic Resources

Located:

Smith Hall, Room 201

Hours:

Monday through Wednesday 8am to 5:30pm

Thursday and Friday 8am to 4:30pm

Helps with:

Anything and everything related to academics. They have Study Smart Sessions which are peer led and help with study methods, tactics, and tools. CFAR also offers Strategies for Success on Final Exam Sessions that are course related to A&P, Nutrition, BIO 411/412, Chem 403, and MATH 418/425. There is also a Study skills drop-in clinic which provides a peer academic mentor that can provide information on time management, organizing, test taking and more. These are Monday through Wednesday from 4pm to 5:30pm.

Worth it?

CFAR is an amazing resource here at UNH and you should really take advantage of all they offer. If you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed at all, go to CFAR.

Worth it?

100%. Stress affects us in ways we don’t even realize. Do yourself a favor and take care of yourself mentally and physically. You will benefit without even realizing it.
