8 Tips For Your Best Spring Body

With Spring break right around the corner, everyone is in a rush to lose those few extra pounds that kept them warm this winter and take charge of getting their hot summer bod. Here are a couple tips to help you look and feel your best this break! 

 

1. Hit the gym! Take advantage of the Hamilton Recreation Center. From running on the track to group exercise the gym is open from 6 am – 12 am ready to make you sweat!

 

 

2. Make a playlist. Listening and singing to your favorite songs will motivate you to push through your workout and enhance your performance. Spotifty has many fitness pump up playists and offers a student rate of $4.99 a month for their Premium membership. 

 

 

3. Try out the MyPlate option in the dining hall! The plate is divided into different sections reminding you to fill it with suggested portions of each essential food group. 

 

 

4. Do not skip meals!! Not only will it make you hangry (hungry+angry) but it will force your body  into starvation mode, ultimately resulting in the storage of fat.

 

 

5. Do not deprive yourself. We all need to take a spoon to a carton of Ben and Jerry’s once in a while. If you make yourself believe that you are not allowed to eat a certain food, you may crave it more causing you to binge eat it. Treating yourself is important and completely okay as long as you keep portion sizes in mind. 

 

 

6. Change the screen savor on your phone. This may seem silly, but think of the amount of times you check your phone throughout the day. If your screen savor is an inspirational quote or a picture that makes you feel good about yourself, it may motivate you to making healthy choices. 

 

 

7. Support! Encourage your friends to be a part of your healthy lifestyle. You can keep each other on track when it comes to making choices and be able to collectively celebrate your progress. Enjoying the results with the people you love is an awesome feeling and it will guarantee awesome pictures! 

 

 

8. Be kind to yourself! We are all different levels of fit, and with that being said you shouldn’t compare yourself to others. Be proud of where you are on your journey, and the fact that you are pushing to make a change. As much as we wish they did, results do not happen overnight. Be patient, and treat your body with respect.
