This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCG chapter.

Do you enjoy Thanksgiving but can’t make it home for the holidays? If you still want to celebrate Thanksgiving but you’re stuck at school, or just don’t want to deal with that family chaos, try hosting Friendsgiving! Friendsgiving is the same holiday as Thanksgiving but it is a Thanksgiving feast held by and for your friends. Here are some tips to help you host a successful Friendsgiving:

1. Invite friends.

2. Find a location.

3. Find a time that works for ALL of your friends.

4. Figure out if you’re cooking or bringing a store bought dish.

5. Make a food signup sheet so you can keep track of who is bringing what.

6. Decorate/Setup the location.

7. Play games while the food is being prepared.

8. Enjoy good food with even better friends!

With these tips you will have a rewarding night with your friends. Don’t forget about those leftovers when you’re done. Have a great Friendsgiving, I know I will!
