5 Tips to Surviving the Busy Week Ahead

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCG chapter.

It seems crazy, but we are at that time of the school year again where everything blurs by! From advising to registering for classes to planning out summer jobs and internships, and everything else in between, it can get really busy. That is why I came up with a few quick tips about how to survive the busy weeks ahead. Now there is definitely more that you can do, but hopefully these tips give you a starting point!

Tip 1:Plan out the week ahead! – Utilize your planners, phone calendars, calendars in your room, or whatever you have. It’s important to plan out your week when you know it’s going to be busy. Don’t forget to put down any organization meetings, academic and non-academic appointments, homework assignment due dates, and much more.

Tip 2: Do as much homework as possible in advance! – A busy week means it easier than ever to forget important assignments like homework or online quizzes. So If possible do the assignments that are written down in your planner well in advance. This way, when you get caught up in everything you have to do, you don’t have worry about missing an assignment. (This tip is especially useful if you can do your math or language homework in advance.)

Tip 3: Don’t forget to plan out your break time (watch tv, nap, etc.)! – When planning out your week, it’s important that you schedule in your “Me” time. Things can get crazy but you need to make sure you have some time to relax in between the craziness. Stick to this time, it is just as imporant as homework and quizzes!

Tip 4: Don’t forget to eat! – Another basic but easy thing to forget during a busy week is food. Please remember to eat so you have the energy to keep going and the focus to make your hard work count. And even though it’s easy to eat junk food on the go, try to balance out the bad snacks/food with some good snacks/food. Don’t let your health suffer! (Some good snacks are granola bars, fresh fruit, water, salads, rice cakes, and veggie chips)

Tip 5: Give your friends and family a heads up! – I know when we’re busy sometimes we don’t think about friends and family, but they are important. You may not have to tell them everything, but if you know you won’t be around when you usually are just let them know that the week will be busy but you’re still there if they really need you. It’s easy to just send a text at least once that week, give them a call, or try to grab a (healthy) meal with your friends at least twice.

I know things are getting really busy and I hope these little tips help! If you have any other tips for us leave a comment below!
